Free Speech and the MediaConstitutional Origins and Today's Reality in the US and Europe
Roma, Centro Studi Americani, 06 novembre 2026

Freedom of speech, a cornerstone of the constitutional State, is today under mounting strain, driven by profound social transformations and the rapid advance of new technologies. Against this backdrop, the relationship with the media landscape has grown increasingly delicate. It is necessary to determine how far the right to inform may extend before it encroaches upon privacy and human dignity. This question runs through every legal order rooted in the liberal-constitutional tradition, and it demands answers equal to the challenges of our time.
These issues, and many more, will be discussed on 6 November at the Centro Studi Americani in Rome, in a symposium bringing together Italian and American institutions, businesses, academics and journalists.
